OK people this deal, I want to start a petition and see if we can bring the Road Rovers back. I've popped the idea around some other forums and so far I've got some really good feedback. I don't think I need to say that posting this idea here won't get some REALLY GOOD FEEDBACK!^-^ I'm still working on how I should set it up, in the mean time to anyone who reads this, PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD! Any questions or comments please feel free to ask. Ideas and suggestions are always welcome.

I expect that it's worth a go. At my estimation, there's about a %42 probability of success. Unfortunately, most companies do not value their customers and therefore do not listen to them, but if enough people will sign the petition, this should hopefully work.
I wish you the best of luck with this, and I hope for the best.

Sadly, I see less than a ten percent chance of success. For one, WB no longer has an animation department, and is quite happy to keep it this way. Furthermore, any further episodes brought into play means syndication, which means they have to shell out alot more money. This is why most of the WB's shows at the time only ran for two seasons, and were then invariably cancelled. Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain were their only real exceptions, and the latter of the two only got a third season by adding Elmyra and changing the title, effectively building a new show out of it.

Last but not least, Road Rovers was a show that WB never expended any effort into whatsoever to market it. There was no merch, no promotion. Much like Freakazoid!, it existed solely to fill a spot for two seasons and to give the animation department (with a constantly changing lineup of animation staff, transient levels of animation quality, and whiskey-tango-foxtrot writing now and again) something to keep themselves employed as the roach-infested building fell into disrepair around them.

Ultimately, we'd have more luck getting them to sell the rights to say, Cartoon Network or somesuch, and then praying to God that they see some potential and reboot the series from scratch.

I'm afraid the best an RR fan can hope for at this point is that WB would put the 13 eps on DVD. Kind of doubt they'll do that since in the big scheme of things, Road Rovers had a tiny following. Sad, but true.

But logic would tell you that if they can put out DVD's of such clunker cartoons as Roger Ramjet, Dudley Do-Right and Hulk Hogan's Rock'N Wrestling, then the Road Rovers would have a shot at DVD stardom. However, I really can't see WB doing that.

Although fan pressure brought back both Family Guy and Futurama (Comedy Central is producing 4 movies of them) it is doubtful that it can bring RRs back.

Hate to be the pessimist here, but facts are facts. RR's on TV will be just as extinct as I am......

(Stone Age humor, get it?)

Honestly, I don't think I'd want them to produce new episodes. I have a feeling it would just get diluted along with all the other contemporary animated shows and become just "another saturday cartoon." But then again, I'm not a kid anymore and my interests have shifted from kid's shows to something a little more stimulating and in touch with reality.

I don't want to put a downer on this, but a petition like this has been done a few times before with no results. The best thing we could hope for at this time, like C.D. mentioned, is for WB to release them onto DVD so those who wish to treasure the memories can do so in high quality video.

I appreciate the feedback, and I think that if we can a good crowd behind this there is an excellent chance for this to work. As for the WB animation department, we could always try someone else. Having the 13 episodes released on DVD is another good idea. Don't forget people, it's been about ten years now since it was cancelled mentioning the idea of revival or release on DVD to an animation company is a good idea. So now let me ask you, where do we start?

First step: get lots, and lots, of money. Like, win the lottery three times, kind of money.

second step: Offer at least half of said money to WB, and hope that they finally sell the rights to a show they refuse to make money on, by even making a DVD release.

step three: Pray to at least five different religions' version of God, that they accept, this time.

step four: If they accept, the other half of the money will likely need to be spent in building an animation studio, preferrably in a right-to-work state, so the Animators' Union doesn't run you out of business.

step five: get investors, pitch the show to networks.

step six: get animating.

Otherwise, WB has shown a marked refusal to read petitions, no matter how many signatures you get. They were offered to sell the rights several times in the late 90's, but refused each time. WB seemingly wants the show to die, and be forgotten, and this is almost exactly why it likely will never be.

I do agree that the show should be left be and DVDs made available to those who would like to collect the series.
However, a new adventure with new characters surrounding the anthropomorphic world can be done as long as it's original.
All you need is money and a creative mindset
to bring it to reality.
To step it up a notch one might think of making the characters using the same concepts
of animating them to be more "lifelike" much like "Final Fantasy" as an example.
Tracy Butler has a great story going on that involves cats and my first impression was "cats don't dance" but she added more details to it so that it exude a different perspective and feel overall in an effect a departure of the original.

Sorry for the long delay between posts.

There's always hope. Take it from me. I sell hope in 81 equal parts everyday. Hope is a spring eternal.

However, if WB brought back the Rovers without the input of their creator, it would of neccessity, be a different show. I'm not sure if I'd want to see that, but I'll never say never.

There is another option here, as well. Adult Swin played an episode of Family Guy that was considered too controversial for network TV. Why not ask them to play "A Day In The Life" with the Russian Names song? There are other 90's cartoon properties that CN owns that were edited after production, too, so maybe an "Unedited Episodes" night?

In any event, it's good to be talking about the Rovers again. Hunter, Colleen, Blitz, Exile, Shag, Muzzle and Professor Hubert deserve a better outcome.

You guys made some excellent points. I agree with a DVD release. If only they would put everything they have done on it, it will sell like the Nintendo Wii. XD Chances of this coming back are very very slim but I believe if we keep our hopes up and support it, the show will be revived in some way. I know the original stuff might be long gone, but if something happened and it keeps the same humor and animations, then I would accept that. I suggest we keep making fan-made stuff and thank WB for the show. That's just my thoughts.

EDIT: Just a thought, maybe we can pick up where WB left and make a video game out of this show like a FPS or Action/Adventure. That would own and plus we can take all the characters we love and revive them easily. For example, anyone play Wolfenstein 3d? We can easily make a mod of that game with this show in it. I think that would own so much.

Email me if you have any thoughts or ideas on this amazing show. gaming2go@yahoo.com
