I realize and have noticed that there has been little activity around here of late. If we could get a good enough force together, though, could we not take up where WB left off? Seriously, folks, you have RPs here, you have artists, obvious from the banners that are visible all over the place, as well as the gallery section. I don't know about the rest of you, but my laptop has a built-in HD microphone (and it is pretty HD), and, as I frequently imitate Arnold Schwarzenegger, I have a passable Blitz impression. I'm sure we could scrounge up enough voices that way.

Sure, it may not be top shelf material, it may not even please us, the fans, but it could show that we are serious about this thing.

I realize that drawing one picture and animating are two different things. It might be possible though.

Couldn't we at least slap together a sample storyboard? I even have ideas (none of them down on paper, mind you) that would sort of comically explain why the Rovers were canceled (yeah, I know about the FCC conundrum, but it's fun to look at it from another point of view.).

Yeah sure, come in here, fans. Tell me I am exactly what my username calls me. I'm an idle dreamer. I believe in a perfect world; you know, the one that doesn't exist. I love this series in its original form. Some of the fanfics I've read have been disappointing, to say the least. It's become all about Hunter and Colleen falling in love and having kids. Yadda, yadda, yadda! I get tired of it! That's not the Road Rovers I know! It's about the fun things they do, at times the dramatic positions with the ever present comic relief. I'm as much a fan of the pair as anyone, but I don't think that they need to do that!

And for the rest of you, the ones who aren't calling me a dreamer. You're the ones that are saying, "All right Mr. Dreamer. If you really love the Road Rovers, why didn't you write a fanfic instead? Isn't this rant unnecessary?" No, it was rather obvious from the reaction to the aforementioned inspiration thread that most of the people left in this forum are cynics. You don't think that this could ever happen. Throw yourself into it! Do something with what abilities you have to help bring it back. So what it's a ninety percent chance of failure. It's also a ten percent chance of victory. It's nine to one odds, but while the first number in the odds is above zero, there's still a chance.

There was also the suggestion of a game somewhere in the topic I speak of. Have any of you ever heard of Chex Quest? Try here: http://www.chexquest.org. I'll give you some background. Chex Quest is a DooM Total Conversion. This means that the uber-violent game, DooM, rated M, was modded completely, replacing or eliminating all DooM elements and replacing them with something else. In this case, it is a promotional game for Chex cereal. It isn't bad at all, actually, and a while ago it seemed that Chex Quest was dead. Then one of our 'charter members' at chexquest.org, Boingo the Clown TRIED!!! He decided to renew the old Chex Quest. Today, we are a more active community than this is! But what's my gist here? There are still tools to do TCs and for a person with art skill, combined with a DooM modder, one could conceivably make their own TC, replacing the DooM monsters with whatever we want...

Anyway, think about it. If anyone is still here, think about it. I don't want this show to go under for good. It was and is a great show. We just need to try to do something to bring it back.

If any of you know of another forum that has Rover fans on it, why not tell them there? I haven't found many other than this, so I'm asking you to do some of what I can't. Get other fans into this. Make the suggestion. See if you can get anyone excited around these ideas! I'm not saying it'll be easy. I'm anticipating the same ten percent chance of success as the other guy was. But I believe that any chance of success is a reason to try. Come on boys! Thinking small is the business of small minds! To the power of the pack!!! ARROOOO!!!

Yes, I can rant. No, I don't have anything by myself. Why, then do I try to get other people to do this sort of thing? Because I'll help if and when this forum gets up and decides to do something. I'll give you my stuff when you're ready, when you've figured out that we've been too passive.
