OOC: Just out of curiosity, you don't happen to play Medal of Honor: Allied Assault as well, do you, McCracken?
Anyway, I'm a WWII buff, so I'll give this a shot.Warning: This post contains mild language. Most of it is taken directly from the movie and game this rp is based on. Still if anyone has a problem, I will edit the post. I hope I'm not offending anyone...
BIC: In the next Heigens Boat over, Captain Duke McAllen of the 29th infantry division, 5th Cano-sapien Battalion looked up at the fortified Normandy Coast. 15 other cano, felo, and other hybrids stood in the boat with him, tense and afraid. In his hand, he held a letter all of the troops in the operation had recieved. He read over the first few lines.
Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expiditionary Force.
You are about to embark upon a great crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you...
(Boat Pilot):THIRTY SECONDS!! CLEAR THE RAMP!
(Duke): Allright! Use the beach obstacles for cover, stay clear of open beach. We've got to get to the shingle, cut a path through the defenses, and take out the German gun positions so our boys can move up the beach! The navy and air force allready bombed this place, so we shouldn't get much resisitance. Good luck!
Duke chambered a round in his Thompson SMG as the ramp swung down, unleashing a hailstorm of bullets on the squad. Three soldiers went down, but the rest sprinted out onto the beach, now able to see the carnage unfolding there. Duke dove behind a beach obstacle for cover, unable to believe the feirce resistance they were getting. From all around him, he could hear the cries of the soldiers, some to him, some to anyone who would listen.
(Soldier 1, A sergeant): The navy and air force didn't do a thing!! Not a damn thing!!
(Soldier 2, a private): Where are the tanks? I thought we had amphibious tanks backing us up.
(Soldier 1): They're either destroyed or at the bottom of the channel! Either way, we're on our own here! *To Duke* Well, sir? What the hell do we do now!!??
(Duke, Yelling to all who can hear him): WE'RE GETTING OFF OF THIS DAMN BEACH, THAT'S WHAT!! Come on!! Follow me!!
Duke aimed at one of the bunkers, firing off 15 rounds, his first shots of the war in Europe. Then he ran, making a beeline for the only cover available, the small hill above which the Germans had placed barbed wire... the shingle. He could hear other troops going down around him, but all he could do was pray that one of the bullets whizzing past didn't catch him as he tried to advance.
That was all anyone could do...
