Ok, I know this has been tried by Jaggie before, but, both her and I love Robotech, and have combined it with Road Rovers a couple times before. This is sorta based on RoboTech, but doesn't follow the normal storyline [ie, no southern cross, no invid invasion] if you join, enjoy

Sarah McLoude sighed gently as the heaviness in her cheast lessened as the shuttle finished its boost from Macross City Spaceport, on its corse to her new home. She looked out her window and saw it in the pail light being reflected by the lights of the Robotech Factory, that, as a baby she had played apparently a part in capturing, though mother and father had not really been forthcoming about it.

In those lights was the SDF-2, a giant, spuerdemensional battleship of emense perportions, large enough not only to be a military vessel, but the home of a civilian population as well, as her predessesor, the SDF-1 had accidently become, SDF-2 was desgined with that capability from the start. It was seen that civillian life would be nessecery to keep the military crew going on the long months, maybe years of the SDF-2's mission.

Sarah laughed gently at that, mission, to find the creators of the Zentradi, the Robotech Masters, and bring them to terms. Man Zentradi, including her own mother, Krystal McLoude, the first Zentradi to defect, and the mother of the first cano/zentradi hybrid, Sarah herself, wanted to bring the Masters to justice as war criminals, but, most just wanted peace, and that was where SDF-2 was borne.

And Sarah, as Flight Coordinator for the Veritech Force and First Officer, was at the head of that mission.

Just then the twin vertical tailed, delta shape of a VAF-6A Alpha Veritech streaked by, painted in the glossy blacks and whites of the Skull, the famous squadron that her father, CinC of RDF Koji Ozaki and others that were friends and family had been a member of in the Robotech War. The Alpha easily pulled abrest of the shuttle, did a quick, jaunty snap roll and Sarah instantly knew who it was

(Sarah) Hunter Doberman! I swear if you crash that Alpha I will make sure your stuck on the SDF-2 for the entire mission!

She smiled, she had put enough of a jaunt in her voice for the pilot of the Alpha to know she was only... partially joking...

(OOC: for anyone who was wondering, this is what an Alpha looks like, in fighter, battoloid (humenoid) and guradian (inbetween) modes, its a transformable mecha, taken from the last part of Robotech, MOSPEADEA, but, like I said, no Invid Invasion here... http://www.kent.net/robotech/mecha/ref/alpha_fighter.shtml )

(OOC: Nah, I think it's a cool name. *chuckles.*)

Hunter smiled as he turned the veritech upwards, catching the wind under its wings, lifting it with minimal use of the machine's thrusters. He had been leading a group of fighters behind him as they tailed a small shuttle. He heard a deep growl and a grunt of annoyance, signifying Arashi Ozaki and his sister were not amused.

"Aw, c'mon, just have a bit of fun guys, don't be so cranky," He chuckled. "Its not like this is a suicide mission,"

The motly crew was comprised mostly of the son's and daughters of the heroes of the first war. Ironic, he thought. His sister, Faith, would have normally be flying beside him, but today, she was not, for some reson he did not know. AJ grunted at him from across the tac-net.

"Will you please be serious Liutenent?" The young spitz cross-breed said irritably.

As if to answer her question, Hunter had spotted Sarah at the window of the shuttle and did a quick snap-roll, once again only to further AJ's short temper.

-----------

Sarah heard a short laugh over the comm system, signifying that Hunter had heard her.

"I promise I won't! Scout's honor," She could practically hear the grin on his face.

Before Sarah could reply, a voice spoke back from behind Sarah.

"If you crash it, I will personally rip your heart out of your chest and stomp on it,"

Sarah recognized the voice as being Faiths', Hunter's sister, the young doberman-mix that had the reputation of Blitz Dobermann, her father, behind her.

The young woman was a bit taller than most other women her age, about 5'6 and a half. She had a slightly powerful build, strength wired through a graceful, lithe feminine body, a standerd officier's uniform, a light slate blue shirt, and a pair of dark navy slacks, hid it well, and polished shoes covered a pair of rather small feet. Soft, silky black fur clung to her body, highlighted a rusty tan with cream streaking across her eyes. She had a chief petty officier's cap, utop her head emblazened with the wold letters SDF-2 in its deep navy fabric. The cap put up her hair into a bit of a boyish fasion, normally, she had it down and it hung past her waist, a wave of deep black liquid silk, highlighted pure white.

She smiled at the young mix, she was to accompany Sarah off the shuttle when they arrived at the SDF-2. Sarah was also her best friend, so she felt almost obligated to come, and probably would have, even if she wasn't ordered.

Sarah sighed and chuckled at her friend, looking up at her. She was if anything a slight young woman, bearly messuring all of five feet tall, though she wasn't a pilot like her hearitage, that didn't mean she wasn't a fighter, most who knew her called her stubborn, if they were her friends. Those who weren't her friends called her pig-headed, un-moving and unyeilding.

(Sarah) Well, if he crashes it he had better hope there is enough of him left to patch back together for the wedding Faith, and please, no stomping on his heart? that belongs to mean you know that....

*Her aquamarine eyes, flecked with gray sparkled at her friend as the shuttle lined up for its approach the docking bay just below the exterori flight deck on the SDF-2. It had launch catapults for Alpha and the larger Beta Veritechs and almost seemed like an aircraft carrier, but these launch bays lead in a ten degree cant into the SDF-2 where the fighters were launched under shirt-sleave conditions from behind a magnetic containment feild.

***

As Hunter's flight cruised in escort next to Sarah's shuttle, the rest of the bridge crew of the SDF-2 prepared for teh ships launch, her captain, a tall, almost regal looking setter smiled as he looked out over the two mile length of his ship from where his bridge was close to the after end of the ship, he could see shuttles comming and going, and Alphas, Betas, and Alpha-Beta linked cominations, known as Legios when the two fighters were linked to work as huge speed-boosted interceptors buzzed about the scarlet and blue hull.

All and all, Captain Allen Rikes was quite pleased with his ship, and his crew, especially the young First Officer he was getting, knowing of her heroic background, and her own sterling record, be it only a year in length.
